janet doughty
editor/writer
qualification
summary
Versatility
of perspective is one of the primary assets Janet has developed
over a long academic and professional career combining literature,
science education publishing, performing arts and graphic design,
in both corporate and not-for-profit settings. Armed with an undergraduate
degree in English literature and a graduate degree in music, she
"never quit her day job," developing a publishing career
in parallel with her longtime participation in the San Jose area
classical music scene. During an extended stint as the Publications
Coordinator for the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, a non-profit
professional and public education organization dedicated to the
popularization of astronomy, she handled the editing, design and
production of educational brochures and booklets, a bi-monthly magazine,
membership and fundraising materials, and mail-order catalogs. More
recently she has gained a perspective on the corporate world as
an editor, writer and production artist for the in-house Creative
Group at Robert Half International.
what
that means for you
Janet has experience
in many disciplines, but she is at her most creative capturing ideas
and feelings in words. As a classical violist, she's fanatic about
getting it right - but she's just as committed to making it beautiful
and fun, too. Whether the project involves working with pre-existing
material or developing new copy herself, with her broad background
she is comfortable in any setting and delights in wrapping her brain
around your special situation.
